News 'n' Stuff
There's a lot going on right now so I'm going to put it all under one heading.

Acoustic Set

I know, I know, I said we'd never do another acoustic set because it was hella gay. But when we did the acoustic set last time, there were a couple of extenuating circumstances that led to my proclamation. First and foremost, we were missing our drummer for that show, and decided at the last minute to do an acoustic set. Hence, it was shit because we didn't prepare anything acoustically. Well, it wasn't shit per se, but it wasn't great. Anyway, it's different this time. We've been working on doing some acoustic numbers, both covers and originals, and some of the originals we've been working on sound pretty cool acoustically. We're probably going to try a few of the songs out at open-mics before doing it as a regular set, and we'll let you know if we're planning on doing an open mic night somewhere ahead of time.

Amped Up Radio

There's a new Internet radio station that has been playing Max the Dork pretty regularly called Amped Up Radio. They're based in New Jersey, so they have offered to play local bands, which I think is pretty fucking cool. So I submitted some of our stuff and they put it on the rotation. They also have a pretty cool Request feature that lets you request songs, and yes, Max the Dork is in the list (hint, hint!). Give them a try today, it's a really good station, I've been listening to nothing else for the past week.

New Button Designs Ordered

There's two new button designs that we ordered just today. These are the Max the Dork logo button which will look something like this:

MtD Logo

And the button we affectionately call the "Eat Them" button, which looks like this:

I Love To Eat Them

That second button employs a lyric from our most popular song, "Ode to Ed." As with our previous buttons, these are 50¢ at shows, or 2 for a dollar via Internet (minimum order of two, because we have shipping to consider). So get one for yourself and give one to a friend. Just make sure you tell them about us! (-:

Pirate's Den Tickets

We have tickets for the March 11 show at the Pirate's Den. They're $5 each, so if you wanna buy some, email us and we'll get them to you. I'll be putting a button on the Shows page to buy them right from there. We have a limited number of tix, so make sure you get yours today!

MtD on WGLS

It's been a while since we've been on the air at WGLS for the Locals Only show (Thursday nights at 9:00 PM Eastern), and the guys asked if we'd come in some Thursday in March. Well, the only Thursday in March that we're not available is the 11th, when we'll be playing at the Pirate's Den (see above). So one other week in March, we'll be going in for an on-air interview, and possibly an acoustic performance, which should be pretty cool. We also have audio up on our Downloads page from our last on-air performance/interview at WGLS, so if you haven't heard that, check it out.

Screwy's TBA

Our show at Screwy's, which was cancelled on Friday because of flood damage to the club, will be held at an unspecified date in the future. As soon as we know more, we'll let you know.

Bret is a regular poster on the NJ Scene message board. Well, someone from South Jersey has to do it! If you check out the message board, you'll see his posts under the name "MtD Bret."
