Crapital Punishment CD Release Party
It seems like it's taken forever, but finally, in two days, Max the Dork will be celebrating the recent release of their third CD, Crapital Punishment, with a CD release party at Full Circle Records in Blackwood, New Jersey. It's a free all-ages show that starts at 7:00 PM. We'll be performing the CD live in its entirety, including a rare performance of Buddy, the Crack Smokin' Kitty with Bret's kids singing backup. We'll also obviously have copies of the new CD on hand for purchase, at a discount price of just $4 each. Plus, anyone who buys a CD will also get a free band sticker and a free band button. Just coz we love our fans that much! And since admission to the show is al so free, I don't know of anyplace else where you can get so much bang for your entertainment buck! Seriously!

Hope to see you all there! It promises to be a great time all around! Crapital Punishment CD Release Party
Gish!
Ed McMillen (the Ed in "Ode to Ed," and the mastermind behind This Is A Cry for Help) has achieved notoriety as a game designer now, by placing in the top ten finalists of the annual Independent Games Festival (IGF) 2004, with his side-scroller "Gish." This game is the story of Gish, a small black glob of I-don't-know-what, who travels through the sewers and the grimy underworld in search of his girlfriend. So why am I telling you about this? And why should you care? Well, it just so happens that we wrote the theme song for Gish, as well as some of the ambient music for some of the levels. Look for Gish and Ed McMillen to be featured soon on Tech TV during the IGF in March. We're pretty excited to be associ ated with it. And don't forget that we also wrote the theme song for Cereus Peashy, another Ed McMillen game which I hear is being considered for the Gameboy Advance. Good times.
401 Records Press
401 Records has spawned a printing division called "401 Records Press." Quite original, isn't it? Anyway, the main purpose of the printing division is to publish some short stories and poetry by members of the band. The three short stories by Bret Walker, for example, will be released in the form of limited edition trade paperback. Look for some of those coming soon.

While we're on the subject of Bret's short stories, his first short story, "Rats in the Cellar," is in the planning stages for an independent film directed and produced by James Marshall, the artist behind the Max design. We're certainly looking forward to that. Look for more news on that soon.

Snippets
For New Year's Eve, we got together and played some Trivial Pursuit DVD Edition. The winner? Bret's wife Erin.
