It's been so long since we've done a new cover song, that we decided to do a twofer. Here, as originally performed with our former drummer (Mark Miller, who only lasted a week with us), are the two classics Summertime Blues (Eddie Cochran version) and Crocodile Rock. So get out your boogie shoes and dance to the cowbell solo and remember, there's always room for more cowbell.

We're big Philadelphia Eagles fans. Hell, Justin's stepfather once sold a puppy to Andy Reid. So we had originally started playing the fight song at the beginning of the 2003 season. But it took us this long to get a decent version recorded. So here it is, just in time for the carnage on Sunday. And thanks to Erin for providing the "Punch 'em in the eye!" lyrics. (-:

Did you ever wonder what Max the Dork's live show was like when it was just Bret? Well, it was interesting. After all, it's not often you see a lone guy on stage playing guitar with a portable CD player velcroed to his guitar. Despite the technical difficulties that inevitably arose, the show was still pretty cool. This bootleg was captured live at the first Brenner's Brew show on September 13, 2002. And the album that Bret talks about coming out in the Fall is Crapital Punishment. Well he was half right, it's coming out in the Fall, just not Fall of 2002! |

The complete and official Duets EP! Recorded at Lake Studios on June 22nd, 2003. Our recording engineer/producer was one Mr. Chris Schenk of Vineland, NJ. Email him if you have a band in the South Jersey area, he's the fuckin' shizznit. This is the complete EP that we send to radio stations, record execs, second grade classes, and of course, local congressmen/women. We also sell it out for $1 at shows. Well it only took me four months to get this baby online. The three of us - Bret, Justin, and Tony - went into the WGLS studio to promote our upcoming Groundhog Day of Destruction. We gave a brief (8-9 minute) interview about all things MtD, and then played a couple acoustic numbers. This file is the interview portion of that show. My apologies to Tony and Justin for not having had it up until now. Props to Jack and Kevin, the Locals Only DJs who interviewed us. |

After the Locals Only show wrapped up, we recorded this radio promo for the Locals Only show. They play it right before they play an MtD song, so it's kinda cool. It musta taken about 6 takes to get it right, we kept messing up. And then, in this take, Tony said "South Jersey" when he'd never said it in any of the previous takes. At that point, I was like "fuck it" and we left it at that. Jack and Kevin liked it though. |

Even without advertising it here, it's been downloaded over 400 times, so it can't be all that bad. This song will be going on the upcoming album, Crapital Punishment, the cover of which Edmund himself is illustrating. |

This moment was not quite as magical as the first broadcast, but it's very funny. Basically what happened is that I set my alarm for 2:30 AM, but for some reason I slept through the alarm and didn't wake up until 4:20. So I bolted upstairs, started the stream, started recording, and then called the station. Folks, let me tell you, never call a radio station five minutes after you wake up. You get this...I don't know what it is. Max Keke, the DJ, was very cool about the whole thing. And I owe Girlband bigtime since I missed their segment. I suck. |

MtD's Radio Debut! In all its glory, here it is, all six minutes and 38 seconds of the KPSU broadcast on March 2, 2002 that pertained to Max the Dork. The DJ played California Dreaming as a request/dedication to OutcastedMisfit (you'll see him in the Max Forum often). I was listening to the broadcast on Real Audio, and when he played the song I called the station. So, the DJ (appropriately named "Max") gave me an impromptu interview on the air, and then played the song again. This was a magical moment for Mtd, let me tell you.
I have to apologize for the quality of the MP3, I got it from someone else who compressed the hell out of the 2-hour broadcast to fit it in 17 MB. Also, you'll notice a couple times during the song when it seems to skip or pop. That's because I had to save out 60-second snippets and then reassemble them. But you'll get the idea. |
